For most home care to be covered by public and private payers, it must be considered medically necessary. You must also meet certain coverage requirements. Different insurance plans have different policies. Check your plan to see what is covered.
Long-term care insurance and cancer insurance policies sometimes will pay for these services, but it depends on your policy or plan. Check with your plan or policy to see if you have coverage for home care services and if there is a waiting period to access payment for services.
